The Ohio Valley Scottish Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to educating, entertaining, and conserving the Scottish Culture through the Scottish Arts. The OVSS board is a composite of trustees active in the various organizations that promote the Scottish heritage, culture, and arts. Some currently serve or have served on the boards of the Kentucky Scottish Weekend, the Ohio Scottish Games, and the Ohio Scottish Arts School. There are also Highland dance instructors, pipers from the various bands, and Caledonian Society members.

We currently sponsor the annual Cincinnati Indoor Highland Dance Competition (entry form). Our mission also includes encouraging all ages to participate in the culture of Scotland through dance and music. We offer scholarships for Highland Dancers, Pipers, and Drummers to attend workshops all across the US to develop their skill and love of Scottish arts. Additionally, the OVSS will continue to reach out to the Scottish Community by helping those interested in the Scottish arts obtain performers or participate with the various Scottish groups or organizations that are in the Ohio Valley area.

It's easy to become involved. Simply contact us. OVSS has performed for many local civic organizations and churches, including the the St. Andrews Episcopal Parade and Kirking, and the Celtic Lands Festival at the Museum Center. OVSS has also performed at weddings and other celebrations.  We are always looking for opportunities to demonstrate our art.

OVSS gladly accepts tax-deductible donations for its performances. If you are interested in having OVSS entertain for your event or would like to make a donation, please contact us!
