Become an OVSS Artist
what is an ovss Artist?
An OVSS Artist is a dancer that performs with us at different events. We provide highland dance performance and fundraising opportunities to dancers from all over the region. An Artist is specifically someone who participates in a performance, competition, or community-engagement capacity.
How does it work?
Once we have received and processed your application, you will begin receiving invitations to participate in different OVSS events. Those events might be performances, educational outreach events, fundraising opportunities, and special events.
Artists will receive annual scholarship funds based on how much they participate. There is no obligation to participate and there is no minimum participation requirements to maintain membership.
The OVSS does not provide scheduled dance classes and it is expected that all OVSS Artists will take consistent class from their regular studio or teacher. Anyone from any studio or teacher is welcome to apply to participate in OVSS Events as an OVSS Artist. Click here to find a teacher near you.
