Our Local Partners
Cincinnati has a rich Scottish heritage.
Because of this community, we are able to partner with other local organizations
to promote Scottish tradition, art, and history.
Cincinnati Scots Highland Dancers
We are proud to partner with the Cincinnati Scots. Many of the CSHD faculty and friends financially support and donate their time to the OVSS events throughout the year. Many of the CSHD students perform regularly with the OVSS and earn scholarship money to be used for furthering their education outside of the dance studio. Website
Ohio scottish games
We are pleased to support the Ohio Scottish Games, held the 4th Saturday of June in Cleveland, Ohio. Our board members donate their time to organize and run events with the Games. Website
columbus scottish festival
Support for other events is critical to sustaining the Scottish community events in the greater Midwest region. The OVSS members regularly volunteer their time to organize and run the Columbus Scottish Festival highland dance events, held every second full weekend in September. Website
The Caledonian society
of cincinnati
Founded in 1827, it is the oldest society in the United States. The Society is an evergreen partner, providing many performance opportunities throughout the year. Dancers earn scholarship money by participating in performances, including with the Caledonian Society. Website
ohio scottish arts school
The Ohio Scottish Arts School is held in conjunction with the Ohio Scottish Games. This is a world-class, week-long school providing instruction from the world’s leading experts in Scottish dance, bagpipes, drums, harp, and fiddle. Website

We are happy to partner with the Dayton area dancers to provide performance opportunities throughout the Ohio area. The more OVSS dancers participate in events, the more scholarship money they earn. Website
